The city celebrates its arts and culture. Museums and theatres flourish and Leipzig hosts internationally acclaimed events like the Bach festival, the Jazz festival, Wagner and Mendelssohn festivals, the Documentary film festival and many more. The city of Leipzig is home to treasures like St Thomas' Boys Choir which emerged from musical performances during services at Leipzig's Augustinian Canons more than 780 years ago, the Opera House, the Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Natural History Museum, Museum of the German National Library and many more cultural highlights.
