The best way parents can help the language development of their child is to support the development of the mother tongue. The development of the mother tongue helps students learn better at school, it helps them learn English and it helps develop their sense of identity. We therefore value bilingualism, specifically, a bilingualism that adds English to the mother tongue, while the mother tongue continues to be developed.
