ICE is the group award of the IGCSE. It requires the study of at least seven subjects including at least 2 languages and at least 1 subject from each other group.

The IGCSE develops and reinforces a broad range of skills that are needed for the IB Diploma programme in Grades 11 and 12. It also serves as official certification for the end of compulsory education. The ICE/IGCSE diploma is recognised by academic institutions and employers worldwide. An ICE/IGCSE diploma with at least 5 C’s or better is recognised as equivalent to the Mittlere Reife/Realschulabschluss by most German states, including the state of Saxony.

The IGCSE Co-ordinator of Leipzig International School is Mrs. Reingart Böhmer.
