Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

At LIS the children follow an ICT curriculum based on the CIPP. The children begin ICT in Pre-School 3 with one lesson a week in the computer room where they learn ICT skills. From Grade 1 until the Grade 5 the children have two 45 minutes lessons a week in the computer room. In one of these sessions they learn ICT skills and the other allows them to use ICT to support their learning in other subjects.

We have a variety of hardware and software that allows the children to gain a number of ICT skills. By the end of Grade 5 children will have had experience of typing, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics software, databases, simulations, animations, multimedia presentations and control and modelling.
